Our Mission Statement

We aim to provide those in pain or at risk of musculoskeletal injury with the most up to date advice, treatments, and therapeutic exercise to prevent and manage musculoskeletal pain.

Through involvement with research and teaching we aim to advance available knowledge and improve treatment techniques not only in our own clinic but in the wider community. PhysioTec will move with the times through ongoing development of technologically advanced tools for the provision of information and exercise.

Principal Physiotherapist

Dr Alison Grimaldi

PhD, BPhty, MPhtySt (Sports)

With over eighteen years' experience as a physiotherapist, Alison has a PhD on muscle function around the hip, trunk and pelvis, and a  Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy, both completed at the University of Queensland. Alison’s research has involved studies undertaken in collaboration with the European Space Agency. She has also worked across a broad spectrum of sports, including elite level athletics & swimming.

With extensive experience in the use of RealTime Ultrasound in the assessment and retraining of the deep trunk stabilisers, Alison is pioneering the use of this technology for the assessment and retraining of muscle function around the hip & pelvis.

Alison also runs weekend courses around Australia & overseas– updating other physios on muscle function of the hip and pelvis - as well as lecturing at Masters level at Queensland University. She has presented at many state, national & international conferences.  In 2008 Alison presented her research at an International Physiotherapy Conference (IFOMT) in Rotterdam, and a weekend course at the Royal Opera House in London, for physiotherapists to the London Ballet.

In 2009 Alison was a keynote speaker at the 3rd International Conference on Movement Dysfunction in Edinburgh, and an invited speaker for 3 different special interest groups at the national Australian Physiotherapy Association Conference week in Sydney.
